SHAPE PA Mentorship Program

Help us SHAPE a brighter future!

Mentee Form

Do I qualify to be a mentee?

If you’re a SHAPE PA member with 5 years of experience or less in the area they’re seeking guidance then this program was designed for you! Mentees can even seek guidance as a supplemental option to cooperating teachers or their district provided mentor(s).

What’s expected of mentees?

  1. Contribute to a positive experience and be open to assistance based on their identified needs.

  2. Work toward the best outcome by connecting with their mentor via email, text, phone, or virtual meeting in a timely manner.

  3. Communicate with the Mentorship Committee any questions, concerns and change or termination of the current mentorship needs. (Mentees can exit the program at any time)

  4. Complete two surveys per school year with feedback to the committee.

Mentor Form

Do I qualify to be a mentor?

If you’re a professional with at least 3 years of hands-on experience then this program is a great way to share your knowledge and expertise! Mentors should feel confident in using a variety of strategies and tools to teach mentees of differing ages and abilities, however, they will specify an area of expertise to help the committee better match them with an appropriate mentee or mentees.

What’s expected of Mentors?

  1. Provide a positive experience and offer assistance based on their area of expertise.

  2. Work toward the best outcome by offering to connect with their mentee(s) via email, text, phone, or virtual meeting, monthly at a minimum, more or less often if desired by mentee. (The committee will pair you with a mentee of similar availability)

  3. Communicate with the Mentorship Committee for help, advice or resources as needed.

  4. Complete two surveys per school year with feedback to the committee.
